Hewitt reaches Halle semis

06/11/2010 - Halle, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former world No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt reached his first semifinal of 2010 with a victory Friday at the Gerry Weber Open, a grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.

The eighth-seeded two-time major champion Hewitt got past German wild card Andreas Beck 7-6 (7-0), 6-1 at Gerry Weber Stadium.

Hewitt will face another German, Benjamin Becker, in Saturday's semis. Becker doused wild card compatriot Mischa Zverev 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 on Day 5 here.

Another quarterfinal saw German Philipp Petzschner erase Slovak Lukas Lacko 6-4, 6-3. Petzschner will meet the Roger Federer-Philipp Kohlschreiber victor on Saturday. The top-seeded former world No. 1 Federer is a five-time Halle champion and has won his last 27 matches here.
